Pay2Day | Police Search For Suspect After Robbery Attempt at Pickering Store
Police are asking the public to help identify a male suspect who attempted to rob a short-term loan store in Pickering.
According to reports, on Friday February 21, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police responded to the Pay 2 Day store on Liverpool Road near the 401 in Pickering. A male entered the Pay 2 Day store with his face covered and demanded 2 customers hand over their cellphones.
The suspect then attempted to entered the back office, however the door was locked and the suspect fled on foot. Luckily no one was hurt in the robbery attempt. The victims who had handed their cellphones were able to retrieve them after the suspect forgot to grab them as he fled.
Police searched the area but were unable to locate the man. The suspect is described as a black male who at the time of the robbery was wearing a black snow suit.
